Enzymatic Synthesis Process of API

Gel Coat Biomaterials, Inc. provides research and development services to improve the manufacturing process of Active Pharmaceutical ingredients (API)

The biomanufacturing process is applied broadly for API manufacturing. Since enzymes and high-quality raw materials for API manufacturing are expensive, it is important to improve the long-term stability and thermal stability of enzymes to increase the productivity of biomanufacturing. Chemical reactions using enzymes and other biological substances are known to produce chemicals with low energy consumption and high production yield, so they are attracting attention as a new production method for reducing carbon dioxide emissions.  Amoeba Hydrogel of Gel Coat Biomaterials, Inc. protects enzymes to increase their stability. With conventional methods, stabilizing individual enzymes requires time-consuming research and development, such as genetic recombination or genetic modification. Amoeba Hydrogel improves the stability of a wide variety of enzymes by changing its shape flexibly to fit the biomaterial.

Our Amoeba Hydrogel is a physical cross-linked gel, not chemical cross-linked gel, so the substrate can penetrate the hydrogel, and enzyme activity is not disturbed. Enzymes can maintain and improve the activity of enzyme chemical reactions at higher temperatures and even in organic solvents. It can be used for compounds and biomolecules that are insoluble in water, improving API production efficiency.

Biopharmaceuticals and drug delivery systems (DDS) are affected by proteinase in the body. Our Amoeba Hydrogel can improves  the anti-proteinase stability of biopharmaceuticals. In addition, our hydrogel is biocompatible and is expected to enhance drug efficacy without compromising drug safety.
